Next film’s working title: THE HUMAN MACHINE.

The subject of Carl Valiquet’s next project will be on people working physically.

During his recent voyage in Indonesia, where he shot and edited a film on the ritual of cockfighting, Carl Valiquet was struck by the great number of people who lift or move large loads by the shear force of their arms or that carry heavy objects on their heads.

In search of images of these “workers”, the photographer filmmaker plans to travel the whole of Indonesia, from East to West. He will then go to India and Bangladesh.

Gone Fishing Productions

The sign hanging on the closed door of the store reads : « Gone Fishing ». It’s owner has closed up shop. Maybe he has gone fishing but then again, maybe he has just decided to take the remaining of the day off.

For me Gone Fishing means throwing my camera bag over my shoulder and go and tease the world.

The films I create are mixtures of still photographs and moving images. All these blended together with live sound recorded on location. I then become a photographer-cameraman-soundman.
